This website is dedicated to the training of an Appaloosa gelding named Dakota. In his past, he has been misnamed and mistreated, but most of all - misunderstood.

After consulting with multiple aversive horse trainers, Dakota's owner, Charlotte, decided to reach towards force free conditioning techniques. Just as she has trained dogs in the past, Charlotte hopes to shape and modify Dakota's behavior using lure reward and clicker techniques to better communicate with her hooved friend.

This site is intended to show that an animal can be trained and trusted, without sacraficing the animal's natural character. The site is also a way for Charlotte to document and share her moments (both success and failure) training Dakota. Her view on this new experience is: "There's No "Break" In Fix Or Learn".
